Once installed, the SMS Reminder add-on appears inside Google Calendar. You can quickly add phone numbers and schedule reminders for any calendar event.

Add SMS Reminder to Google Calendar

  1. Visit the SMS Reminder listing in the Google Workspace Marketplace.
  2. Click Install.
  3. Grant the required permissions to connect the app to your Google account.

Step 2 — Open the add-on inside Google Calendar

  1. Go to Google Calendar.
  2. Locate the SMS Reminder add-on in the right-hand sidebar.
  3. Click the SMS Reminder icon to open the app.

Step 3 — Add reminders to an appointment

  1. Open a calendar event.
  2. Enter the customer's phone number.
  3. Choose when reminder messages should be sent.

SMS Reminder will automatically send confirmation and reminder text messages before the appointment time.

Step 4 — Save your reminder settings

Once the reminder settings are saved, SMS Reminder will handle the messaging automatically.

You can repeat this process for any appointment scheduled in your calendar.

Step 5 — Allow customers to book appointments from your booking page

In addition to sending reminders for existing calendar events, SMS Reminder also allows customers to book appointments directly through your booking page.

Your booking page connects to your Google Calendar and shows your available time slots.

You can share this page with customers by:

• sending the link directly
• adding it to your website
• including it in your email signature

When a customer books an appointment through your booking page:

  1. The appointment is automatically added to your Google Calendar.
  2. SMS Reminder sends the same confirmation and reminder messages you have configured.
  3. The appointment appears in your calendar just like any other scheduled event.

This allows customers to schedule appointments themselves while still ensuring they receive automated reminders before the appointment time.
