Dynamic data fills in the details for each appointment, so one template works for every client. Type a word in curly brackets, like {time}, and each message shows that appointment's time.
Add dynamic data to a template
In the web app, go to Settings → Templates and select a template.
Type the dynamic data into your message, curly brackets included. For example: Hi, see you on {date} at {time}. Join here: {videolink}
Save the template.
To see the full list while you type, hover over Add dynamic data under the message box.
What you can use
Dynamic data | What it shows |
The event title in your calendar
The date of the appointment
The time of the appointment
Your business name, from your settings
The meeting location from your settings
The location on the calendar event
A link to join the appointment's video call
Send the video call link
Add {videolink} and each client gets the join link for their own appointment. No more copying links by hand.
It works with video calls added to the event in Google Calendar: Google Meet, and Zoom or Microsoft Teams added with their Google Calendar add-ons. Webex, Whereby and Doxy.me links work too. It also works with Google Meet bookings from your booking page.
Your client gets a short link, like smsreminder.co/meet/aB3xQ9kZ. When they tap it, it opens the video call. If you change the call link in Google Calendar, the short link opens the new one.
Other Things to Know
Dynamic data works in confirmations, reminders and follow-ups.
Capital letters don't matter. {VideoLink} works the same as {videolink}.
{videolink} only reads the video call on the calendar event. A link typed into the event's description or location isn't used.
Anyone who has the text can join through the link. Use your video service's host controls, like a waiting room, to choose who gets in.
Test messages and previews show a sample link.
Dynamic data adds characters to your message, which can change how many reminders it uses. The video link adds about 40 characters. See How to calculate your monthly SMS reminder usage.
If a message is too long, we shorten the text before the link so the link still arrives whole.
