On November 1, 2026, British Columbia, Alberta, the Northwest Territories and Manitoba stop changing their clocks. They keep summer time all year, so the clocks don't "fall back" this fall. We've updated SMS Reminder for the new rules, so your reminders keep showing the right appointment time. Here's what to check if you're in one of these places.

Is your calendar affected?

This change only affects calendars set to one of these time zones:

  • Vancouver (Pacific Time)

  • Edmonton (Mountain Time)

  • Yellowknife or Inuvik (Mountain Time)

  • Winnipeg (Central Time)

If your calendar uses any other time zone, nothing changes for you.

To check your calendar's time zone in SMS Reminder:

  1. Open the app.

  2. Go to Settings → Calendars.

  3. Look at the time zone next to each connected calendar.

Let Google move your appointments

Google Calendar is moving existing appointments to the new times for you, up to October 31. You don't need to move anything yourself. Your reminders always follow the time in your Google Calendar.

Important: Don't shift your appointments by an hour to "correct" them. Google already does this, so moving them yourself would put them an hour off.

If an appointment looks an hour off

Start by opening the appointment in Google Calendar.

  • The time is wrong in Google Calendar too. Google missed this one. Drag it to the right time in Google Calendar. Your reminder updates on its own.

  • The time is right in Google Calendar, but the reminder shows a different time. Send us a message so we can look into it (see Still stuck? below).

Other Things to Know

  • Your booking page, reminder texts and booking emails all use the new rules.

  • A booking confirmation email may show the old time zone label, for example MST instead of MDT. The appointment time in the email is correct.

  • A reminder for an all-day event may arrive an hour later than usual, on the same day. If you'd like it moved back, send us a message.

  • If a client gets a text for one date of a repeating appointment that you cancelled in Google Calendar, send us a message and we'll fix it.

  • If your reminders stopped sending, that isn't caused by the time change. Check your plan and message balance first.
