You can charge for an appointment at checkout, or take the booking for free and collect payment in person. Either way, bookings themselves are always free — there's no per-booking fee.

Getting paid at checkout

Because appointments are Shopify products, they're paid for through your normal Shopify checkout:

  1. The customer clicks Book Now, picks a time, and enters their name and phone number.

Ask customers to include the country code — for example +1 415 555 0100 or +44 7700 900123 — so you can reach them if you need to.

  2. The appointment is added to their cart and they pay at checkout like any other product.

  3. The booking is confirmed once payment goes through, and it appears on your Google Calendar and in your dashboard.

If a customer doesn't complete payment, the time isn't held — so you never lose a slot to an unpaid booking.

What happens after they book

  • You get an email confirming the booking, so you know straight away without checking the app.

  • Your customer gets a booking confirmation email with the appointment details and links to reschedule or cancel. The same options appear on the page right after they book.

  • Your customer also gets Shopify's order confirmation, the same as any other purchase. That email is yours to edit — under Settings → Notifications in your Shopify admin. It's worth adding your cancellation policy and how to reach you, so your customer has the terms in writing.

Taking free or pay-in-person bookings

Prefer to collect payment in person (or offer a free consultation)? Price the product at $0. Your customer still checks out through Shopify like any other order — there's just nothing to pay, so no credit card is required. The booking is confirmed once checkout completes.

Good to know

  • Deposits and partial payments aren't supported yet — a paid appointment is charged at its full price at checkout.

  • Taking bookings costs you nothing. What the customer pays at checkout goes to you — there's no fee to us.
