Collection: SMS Reminder for Shopify → Getting started
You've connected your calendar, linked a product, and turned on the Book Now button. The last step is to book a slot yourself, exactly like a customer would, so you can see the whole experience before you go live. There's no test button to press, you just make a real booking.
If you prefer to test a booking outside of your store, you can also follow the steps in our demo store.
Book a test slot
Open one of your linked products on your storefront (or use your booking page link) and click Book Now.
In the Book an appointment window, pick a date and time, then click Continue.
Enter your own name and mobile number so the texts come to you. Email is optional. Click Add booking to cart.
Go through Shopify checkout to confirm the slot. If your product is priced at $0, it's confirmed with no payment; if it has a price, complete checkout as a customer would.
Check it worked
Once checkout is complete, confirm all three landed:
The appointment shows in Upcoming booked appointments in the app.
The booking appears on your Google Calendar.
If you have reminders switched on, the confirmation text arrives on the number you used.
Your reminder text arrives ahead of the appointment on your normal reminder timing (for example, the day before), so to see it too, book your test slot inside that window.
Good to know
Use your own mobile number so the confirmation and reminder texts come to you.
With reminders on, a test booking uses a couple of your 25 trial messages (the confirmation and the reminder).
It's a real booking, so cancel or refund it afterward if you don't want it on your books — see When a customer cancels or wants a refund.
