Send a test booking

Before you send customers to your booking page, book an appointment yourself. It takes two minutes and shows you exactly what your customers will see.

Book a test appointment

  1. Open your store and go to a product you've linked to an appointment type.

  2. Click Book Now.

  3. Pick a time and enter your own name and phone number.

  4. Click Continue, then Add booking to cart.

  5. Complete checkout as a customer would. If your product is priced at $0, you still check out — there's just nothing to pay, so no credit card is needed.

Check it worked

Four things should happen:

  • Booking emails arrive — the new-booking email you get as the merchant, and the booking confirmation your customer gets, complete with its reschedule and cancel links (that's you, for this test).

  • The booking appears in Upcoming appointments on your dashboard.

  • The appointment is on your Google Calendar at the right time.

  • The time slot you booked no longer shows as available on your booking page.

That last one is the one worth checking properly — it's what proves nobody can double-book you.

Tidy up afterwards

Cancel your test booking — use the cancel link in your confirmation email, or cancel and refund the order in Shopify admin → Orders. Either way the slot frees up and the appointment comes off your calendar.
