Collection: SMS Reminder for Shopify → Getting started

An appointment is sold as a Shopify product, and the product's price is what your customer pays. To sell an appointment type on your store, you link a Shopify product to it. This is Step 2 of setup.

Before you start

  • An appointment type to sell (you created your first during setup — add or edit them under Create your first appointment type).

  • A Shopify product for it (create one first if you need to — see below).

Link the product

This is Step 2 of the Setup guide, but you can do it any time.

  1. In the Shopify admin, open the app and go to Link a booking product to an appointment type.

  2. Under Choose a product, click Choose product, pick the Shopify product in the picker, and Add it. (No product yet? Browse products in Shopify to create one — see below.)

  3. Under Link it to an appointment type, choose the appointment type.

  4. Click Link appointment type.

The product now shows as linked, and Book Now replaces Add to cart on that product page (once you've turned the Book Now button on — see Turn on the Book Now button).

You can link several appointment types to the same product. To link, change a linked product or remove a linked product later, you can also use the Actions menu on the Appointment types card.

Creating the booking product

If you're making the product from scratch, set it up like this:

  • Title — the service name customers see (for example, "Wellness Session").

  • Price — what the customer pays for the appointment. Set it to $0 if you'd rather collect payment in person or offer a free consultation.

  • Turn Track inventory off — availability is decided by your open calendar slots, not stock levels.

  • Turn This is a physical product off — so Shopify doesn't add shipping costs at checkout.

    Good to know

    • Duration, reminders, buffers, and rescheduling belong to the appointment type, not the product — edit them under Create your first appointment type.

    • Bookings are always free. The product price is only what the customer pays you; there's no per-booking fee whether you charge at checkout or collect in person.
