Collection: SMS Reminder for Shopify → Troubleshooting
If your booking button has disappeared or shows as "sold out" or "unavailable," it's almost always a Shopify inventory or product-status setting, not a problem with the app. The good news: it's a quick fix, and the steps below resolve it in most cases.
1. Add stock or turn off inventory tracking (the quickest fix)
If the product you use for bookings has inventory tracking on and its stock hits zero, Shopify treats it as sold out, and the booking button goes with it. Appointments don't run out of stock the way physical products do, so the simplest fix is to stop tracking inventory on that product.
In your Shopify admin, go to Products and open the product you use for bookings.
Scroll to the Inventory section.
Uncheck Track quantity.
Click Save.
With tracking off, the product is always available and your booking button will show again. Prefer to keep tracking on? Set the available quantity to a high number (for example, 999) so it never reads as sold out.
2. Set the product status to Active
A product saved as Draft or Archived won't show a booking button, because Shopify treats it as not for sale.
Open the product in your Shopify admin.
In the top corner, set Status to Active.
Click Save.
3. Make sure the product is published to your Online Store
Even an Active product stays hidden if it isn't published to the sales channel your customers see.
On the product page, find the Publishing section.
Make sure Online Store is selected.
Click Save, then reload your live product page to check.
4. Confirm the product is linked and the button is on
If the button is missing entirely (rather than showing "unavailable"), check that the product is linked to an appointment type and that the Book Now button is enabled in your theme. See Your product still shows "Add to Cart" instead of "Book Now" and Turn on the Book Now button.
5. Check the live page, not the theme editor
The booking button doesn't always render inside Shopify's theme-editor preview. Always confirm on your live product page, the same one your customers visit, before assuming something is broken.
