Collection: SMS Reminder for Shopify → Getting started

An appointment type is what your customers book — a 30-minute Wellness Session, a class, a fitting. It sets the duration, reminders, and rescheduling rules, and it's what shows up on your booking page. You created your first one during setup; here's how to add or edit them.

Where to manage appointment types

  1. In the Shopify admin, open the app and find the Appointment types card.

  2. Click Edit appointment types. This opens your booking-page settings in the SMS Reminder web dashboard (Settings → Booking Page).

  3. Under Manage your booking page, choose Manage appointment types.

Create or edit a type

You created your first appointment type during onboarding. To add or edit one, set:

  • Name — what customers see (for example, "Wellness Session").

  • Duration (minutes) — how long the appointment runs.

  • Minimum Notice — how far ahead customers must book (for example, 16 hours).

  • Buffer Before / After (minutes) — gap time around the appointment.

  • Disable rescheduling — toggle rescheduling off for this appointment type only.

  • Linked Calendar — the Google calendar bookings are added to. (Free plan: your primary calendar. Syncing additional calendars needs an upgrade.)

Set your bookable days and hours under Manage availability (see Set your availability), then Save.

Add more

Repeat for each appointment type you offer. Each one can have its own duration, availability, reminders, and rescheduling rule.

Sell it on your store

To let customers book (and pay for) an appointment type on your Shopify store, link a Shopify product to it — see Link a product to an appointment type.
