Set your availability

For the SMS Reminder Shopify app. Using SMS Reminder with Google Calendar instead? See the general help center.

Availability controls when customers can book. Set it so people only see times you're actually open.

Open your availability settings

In the Shopify admin, open the app and find the Availability section — it shows your current hours for each day. Click Edit availability to change them. A default schedule is created for you when you install the app — edit it any time.

Set your hours

Turn on the days you work and set start and end times for each. Customers are only offered open slots inside those hours.

Your Google Calendar's busy times are blocked automatically on top of that, so an appointment can't land on top of something you're already doing. You can also block out full-day holidays.

Notice periods and buffers

These are set per appointment type, under Manage appointment types:

  • Minimum notice — stop last-minute bookings (for example, no bookings within 2 hours).

  • Buffers — add gap time before or after appointments so you're not booked back-to-back.

Appointment length

Each appointment type has its own length. To change a duration, edit the appointment type — see Create your first appointment type.
