Collection: SMS Reminder for Shopify → Troubleshooting

SMS Reminder relies on your Google Calendar to hold appointments and block busy times. If bookings aren't showing up or times aren't blocking, re-syncing the connection fixes it in most cases.

Re-sync your calendar (the quickest fix)

  1. Go to smsreminder.co and log in with your Google account.

  2. Click your name in the top-right corner.

  3. Select Synchronize Calendars from the dropdown.

This refreshes the connection and brings your calendar up to date.

Bookings aren't syncing to your calendar

  • Run Synchronize Calendars (above).

  • Make sure you're logged in with the Google account that holds your appointments.

  • Syncing is near-instant, but give a new booking a moment to appear.

"Can't connect" or a 403 / access error

  • When you log in with Google, accept all the permissions it asks for — if calendar access is skipped, nothing can sync.

  • If you're on Google Workspace and it's blocked, your workspace admin may need to allow the app before you can connect.

Busy times aren't blocking availability

  • Make sure the calendar with your commitments is connected and selected. Two-way sync then blocks those times automatically.

  • Your primary calendar is free; syncing additional calendars needs a paid plan.

Google keeps emailing calendar invitations

That's a Google Calendar setting, not the app — Google emails guests added to an event. You can adjust it in your Google Calendar event/notification settings.
