If you enable client rescheduling, customers can move their appointment directly from the confirmation page.
To enable it:
In the web app, go to Settings → Other Settings and turn on Give your clients the option to re-schedule appointments
Once enabled, a Reschedule button will appear on the confirmation page so clients can choose a new time.
You can also disable rescheduling for specific appointment types if needed.
How to enable rescheduling
1. Set up your Booking Page
Go to Settings → Booking Page and configure your appointment types and availability.
If your Booking Page has not been set up yet, you’ll see a prompt in Appointment Confirmation settings asking you to configure it first.
2. Enable client rescheduling
In the web app, go to Settings → Other Settings and turn on Give your clients the option to re-schedule appointments.
After this setting is enabled:
A Reschedule button appears on the confirmation page
Clients can select a new available time
The appointment updates automatically
Disable rescheduling for specific appointment types
Even if rescheduling is enabled for all appointments, you can turn it off for individual appointment types.
To disable rescheduling for an appointment type:
Go to Settings → Booking Page
Click Manage appointment types and select the appointment type
In Edit Appointment Type, turn on Disable rescheduling
Click Save
When this option is on, clients will not be able to reschedule that appointment type.
How rescheduling works
Where clients can reschedule from
After a client books, they can reschedule from these places:
1. The booking confirmation page
Right after booking, the confirmation page includes a Need to reschedule? link. Clients can click it any time to pick a new slot.
2. Their own calendar
If the client adds the appointment to their calendar using one of the Add to Your Calendar buttons on the confirmation page, the calendar event includes the rescheduling link. They can open the event later and follow the link to pick a new time.
3. Replying to an SMS reminder
Clients can simply reply to their reminder message and ask to reschedule. The app responds with your rescheduling link, and the client can choose a new appointment date and time. See Two-way texting.
4. After the reminder is sent
If you've got Appointment Confirmations enabled and the confirmation link is included in your reminder message, one of the options is the 'Reschedule' your appointment. Your client can click the link, Confirm, Reschedule or Cancel the appointment.
5. The confirmation email
Clients who book through your Booking Page get a confirmation email. It links to their appointment page, which has a Reschedule appointment button when rescheduling is on for that appointment type.
Booked appointments
For appointments booked through your Booking Page:
Clients can move their appointment to another available time
The appointment type cannot be changed
If the appointment type has a booking window, clients can move up to the end of it. If their original appointment is further out, they can move to any date up to that appointment.
Google Calendar events
If the appointment was created directly in Google Calendar:
Clients may be able to select an available appointment type
The calendar event will be updated to match the new booking
The event duration may adjust to match the selected appointment type
If rescheduling is disabled
If your Booking Page is set up but rescheduling is not enabled, you’ll see this prompt in settings:
Give clients the option to reschedule appointments from your confirmation page. Click here to enable rescheduling for your Booking Page.
Tip: Allowing clients to reschedule instead of cancel helps reduce no-shows and keeps your calendar full.
